About

Founded by architect duo Bahar Roudiani and Nathan Harelson, the New York based studio and workshop operates across a wide range of scales and programs. The practice is built on the premise that design and construction are not separate disciplines but a single continuous act. Construction is not the execution of a finished idea, but where architecture is actually made. By integrating their workshop with their design practice and focusing on the act of making, they continuously deepen their understanding of materials while moving fluidly from abstract concepts to built proposals.

Their work is driven by a passion for form-making through a precise and sensuous engagement with materials, shaped by intuition, craftsmanship, and a sustained curiosity about methods of assembly and fabrication. They pursue an architectural language that is coherent from the smallest detail and component all the way to the larger structural system — one that maintains an expressive relationship between each part and the whole.

Their work is grounded in a commitment to creating buildings that belong to the places they inhabit, informed by the specific geographic, cultural, and material context of each site. Each project emerges from its place rather than from a fixed theoretical position or typological template.
